Simbang Gabi

Simbang gabi starts at December 15 until 24 of the night that Jesus Christ was bourne. It is really feel's good to attend the mass at early in the morning especially when we are with our loved ones or family.
For nine consecutive days in December, Filipinos wake up before 4:00am for the Misa De Gallo, or the Rooster's Mass, (as roosters crow in the dawn), a ceremony attended by the faithful in preparation for the birth of Christ. It is believed that when the mass is through, God will grant the wishes of the devotees. A tradition brought in by the Spanish in the 17th century, Simbang Gabi used to be held at 4:00am to allow farmers to attend mass before tending fields.

I really love the simbang gabi and misa de gallo tradition. Is it something unique to us Filipinos? I wish I could get up early enough to attend it for 9 straight days though.
