Cebu Historical Places

At my 9th times of keep coming back to Cebu, finally I got chances to walk around and visit the historical places of Cebu.

Larsian is one of Cebu's most prominent eating havens. Located at the uptown area near Fuente Osmeña and Chong Hua Hospital, it is also the capital area of Sampaguita sellers in Cebu.

I really love eating at Larsian not just because of a cheap price of Barbeque but also the sense of smell that could be the reason out for you to go back. Most of Cebuano are loved to eat full that is why restaurant that offers eat-all-you-can are exist and one of those are West Gorordo Family Choice Restaurant and Tongs Restaurant.
Cebu has so riches in history that makes us Filipino brave and strong.
Magellan Cross history tells that this is the very site where Ferdinand Magellan, the Portuguese conquestador and maritime explorer who served under the Spanish crown planted the cross in April 21,1521. The cross depicted the introduction of Christianity to the country and its people.
I feel so blessed when I got to visit the Magellan Cross because you can just found this at inside the patio of Basilica Minore del Santo Niño which is the oldest Roman Catholic Church the original stone texture and natural color from 1735 is still retained.
A few walks around I visited as well the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral Church its also one of important part of the history… (Click the link)

So in the end of this of my 9th visit I almost complete my walking around of the important historical places of Cebu. But it will not be completed if I didn't go to buy a Danggit for pasalubong at Tabo-An public market near downtown in addition Cebu is one of the most massive and pungent dried fish markets in the South
Hhhhmmmm…. How about wishing for the next time in the Tourist hot spot of Cebu.

Mayon Volcano, Bicol

The Perfect Cone
Currently ranking at No. 9

If the earth was ice cream, this still active volcano would be the ideal reverse cone, with height of 2,462 meters (8,077 feet).

Why it deserves your vote: Mayon, famous for its perfect cone shape, was formed through alternate pyroclastic and lava flows during explosions. It is the most active volcano in the country, having erupted over 47 times in the past 400 years. It is part of what is called the Pacific Ring of Fire.

Things to do: Bicol is a foodtripper's haven. But aside from its spicy and creamy dishes, you can go wakeboarding in the Camsur Watersports Complex in Naga, or swim with the whale sharks in Donsol, Sorsogon.

How to get there: Once you arrive in Legazpi, Mayon looms in the horizon. But the best views are from Liñon Hill located behind the Albay Park and Wildlife.

I still remember when the time when we're my family traveling to Bicol, that even you are in very far place it is easy to recognize that volcano because of his perfect shape. So the next time we go back in Bicol I will push my self to closely see that volcano and how truly touch the beauty of nature.

So Vote it now! New 7 Wonders of the World.

Chocolate Hills, Bohol

Chocolate Kisses from Heaven

currently ranking at No. 5

Why it deserves your vote: This unusual geological formation is composed of around 1,268 perfectly coned-shaped hills of about the same size. These hills spread out over an area of more than 50 sq. km. and are covered in verdant grass that turns brown during the dry season. There are reasons how these hills came to be, but experts agree that these are actually grass-covered limestone deposits.

World's Smallest Primate the Tarsier or Tarsius Syrichta

Thing to do: You can also go to Tarsier sanctuary in Corella, where these endemic species are found. Numerous white sand beaches and well-designed resorts are found in Panglao. For a different local tour; ride the Loboc River Cruise and afterwards, listen to the angelic voices of the Loboc Children's Choir.

How to ge there: From Tagbilaran, go to Intregrated Bus Terminal in Dao and board a bus bound for Carmen. Ask the driver to drop you off at the Chocolate Hills complex. Travel time takes about two hours.

This is one of the provinces that I wish to go for and take a vacation.

Cotabato City

Catobato City, July 12, 2008. I just went to this one of Mindanao provinces which is populated of 70% Islam and 30% for Catholic religion. Simple living and friendly people is what you will found in this province despite of some violent we heard nearby from the city. It is still unity and freedom is they aiming to fill it out and for us to realize that safe in Cotabato.

Anyway the province is known in exporting seafood especially Crabs and also in tropical fruits like Durian, Suha, Rambutan, Mangoe and Marang.

(Marang is a fruit of the Johey Oak (Artocarpus odoratissimus), a tropical tree related to Jackfruit and found in the Philippines and other southeast Asian countries.)

Upon traveling in the City going to Barter market, I found out also that most people of the province are favorites of eating Bulalo and Chicken because I counted lot of Chicken grill restaurant in the highway.
Barter Market in Cotabato City
So therefore planning to travel at Catobato City is also kind of exciting because Beach resort and nature tripping is still awaiting for all of us.

Taho!....

Taho - is a Pinoy street food that made of Soft tofu, sago pearls, and a thick brown sugar syrup we call it arnibal that is usually flavored with vanilla, and sometimes with pandan. Served warm in a small plastic cup and sold for 10 pesos or a 1$ is an equivalent of 45Php as of now.
Eating Taho is a good for Breakfast and Merienda (afternoon snacks) partnering in a Tuyo (dried fish) which is Filipino's really loved it. Anyway this morning I took Taho as my breakfast and it is really tasty and yummy. I could consider this as one of the Pride delicacies of Philippines because Pinoy's Taho is has unequalled taste for you to love it too.

Mabuhay Ka Manny!

June 29, 2008. When Pacquiao versus Diaz fights held in Mandalay bay I was in General Santos City, which is the hometown of our “Pambansang Kamao” Manny Pacquiao. So I never pass the chances to interview some people of Gensan regarding everytime his fighting at the ring and I found out that they are really more supportive for their fellow Kababayan because Manny was so kind of person in his hometown not only every time he is winning.

I’m glad that I passed by the convenience store of Manny Pacquiao before I leaved Gensan and basing to the information at this house Manny’s grew up and started but apparently they gave it this now to his brother Bobby Pacquiao and her mother to manage the business but now Manny and his family are currently residing at Lagao also in Gensan.

Anyway talking to his fights Manny was the first Asian boxer to win world titles in four weight classes and as I read to the news lately they will first defend his title crown for WBC lightweight on November 8, 2008 but there was no specific opponent yet as per his promoter Bob Arum.

Once again they put them up the Filipino’s honor all over the world.
Mabuhay Ka Manny!

And here’s the video recap for Pacquiao vs Diaz last Sunday.
